The Foundation

The Tore A Jonasson Foundation is managed by Svenska Handelsbanken.
To fulfil the mission of the Foundation, the administrator is assisted by Py Börjesson and Mårten Castenfors. In addition, two grant committees are appointed to propose grant recipients in sports and art respectively.

The Foundation’s mission

The mission of the Foundation is to house and display the objects in Tore A Jonasson’s private art collection that were bequeathed by Tore A Jonasson to the Foundation, in a museum situated in the County of Stockholm. At least half of these objects shall preferably be displayed in a permanent exhibition. The Foundation shall also present temporary exhibitions of contemporary art in the museum’s art gallery.
Furthermore, the Foundation shall annually acquire, store and display sports-related art at a museum situated in the County of Stockholm.
The Foundation shall also award grants to natural or legal persons for commendable practices relating to sports and/or sports activities, and to artists.
