The Collection

Tore’s original collection consisted of just over 200 works – paintings, watercolours, prints, drawings and a few sculptures. His acquisitions made him a patron to a small circle of artists.

Most of his original collection was sold when he died, and only thirteen works still remain. A small room at Konsthall 16 is dedicated to Tore, showing a selection from his original collection together with a few of his many sports prizes and trophies.

Since 2017, the Tore A Jonasson Foundation acquires new works by Swedish artists. In line with Tore’s interests, the Foundation has chosen to focus on works that are in some way associated with sports. The new acquisitions are presented regularly in exhibitions at Konsthall 16. An art board appointed by the Foundation is responsible for selecting the acquisitions.
